Reviewed by Valencia Perez / lakelandlocal.org

Polk County Public Schools (PCPS) is organizing an in-person hiring event next week that is specifically for bus drivers and school nutrition employees. The event will take place on July 1-3 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jim Miles Professional Development Center in Lakeland, located at 4270 Wallace Road.

Bus drivers can expect a starting pay of $18 per hour, while school nutrition assistants will begin at $15 per hour. PCPS offers health insurance, free employee health clinics, and benefits through the Florida Retirement System for both positions.

Those interested in becoming a bus driver can make inquiries by calling 863-534-7298 or emailing herschel.pipkins@polk-fl.net. For questions regarding school nutrition roles, individuals can call 863-647-4804 (press 1 for English, press 11 for Spanish) or email sara.nichols@polk-fl.net.

PCPS is inviting potential employees to join them for the upcoming school year and looks forward to meeting candidates at the event next week. #lovePolkschools
